Reply:Porcelain veneers. I know someone who paid $30 k to get them but they have a movie star smile...a pauper%26#039;s bank account too.

Reply:well they get them whitened probably. with a laser costs at least $400 each time. they could just have good heridity and there teeth are straight or they may have had braces.around $4,000. veneers go over your natural teeth with can be exensive too.hope this helps.
Reply:I%26#039;m sure they spend over 20 grand to get their%26#039;s fixed. Cost me $480 to get a cleaning and one lousy filling last month, with insurance!
Reply:Cosmetic Dentistry is often used for the %26#039;perfect look%26#039;.
Procedures range from simple corrective devices and non-surgical treatments, like retainers, bleaching trays or laser whitening to invasive products like Crowns/Caps, Veneers, Bridges, Jaw surgery, dental implants, and color matched composite fillings.
If a person has a good bite ( you will often hear things like a %26#039;class a bite ) where the teeth meet and normally shaped teeth they may just whiten their teeth or do nothing at all. Many people have beautiful smiles without any intervention.
Obviously crooked teeth are straightened with things like braces or retainers over a period of time, but depending on the budget and available time the teeth may be capped or have veneers applied.
Some of the most common practices are capping the %26#039;canines%26#039; so that people have square teeth and applying veneers to the four teeth (top and bottom) at the front of the mouth to give a straight and white appearance to those teeth seen the most.
Dentists will try to work with the patients natural mouth and facial structure to create a smile that is correct for the individual. Bad cosmetic dentistry is often referred to as %26#039;chiclet teeth%26#039; after the flat square pieces of white gum. Teeth should not look identical throughout the mouth so part of the cost of good cosmetic dentistry is based on the perceived ability of the dentist to produce an aesthetically pleasing smile.
Caps come in various shades of white (a1, a2....b2... and of course gold ) so that the replacement of a single tooth blends with adjacent ones of natural color. The variations are subtle and one would be hard pressed to tell what star has ultra white and who has one drop of ivory tint. They also come in various grades where the base material can be a hard somewhat unforgiving and less expensive metal or more expensive precious metals. A high quality crown will cost somewhere between $1300.00 and $1600.00 or more (this is per tooth).
Other preparation charges need to be considered when one thinks about the total cost of cosmetic dentistry. You will always need to have an X-ray of your mouth to make sure the tooth structure is adequate for a cap and that the roots are in tact. If there are little to no roots from decay or baby teeth then extraction may be required as well. If an extraction is performed the replacement will usually consist of a permanent bridge where the adjacent teeth are capped and the replaced tooth is integrated into a metal strip between the caps. This obviously increases the cost significantly as you are having 2 full caps prepared. If the tooth is decayed, but not severely so it will require a root canal and post buildup prior to capping. This is another procedure that will add to the cost.
Provided everything is %26#039;normal%26#039; the dentist will be able to take a mold, shave down and prepare the base of your tooth, and provide a temporary plastic cap on the first visit. Depending on the speed of the cap supplier (making crowns is treated like an art form with some products being of allegedly superior quality) you may come back in less than a week to have the plastic temporary easily removed and the new porcelain crown glued down onto the tooth and %26#039;adjusted%26#039; through positioning and minor drilling.
In some cases the gums may be extremely receded and retraction and surgical treatment is required to conceal the metal of the crown, prevent dental carries (cavities), and reduce the long %26#039;toothy%26#039; appearance of some people. The term %26#039;long in the teeth%26#039; refers to the age related recession of the gums and changing the bite while encouraging healthy gum growth results in a %26#039;youthful%26#039; smile because the perceived height %26#039;length%26#039; of the teeth is lessened by a shorter porcelain cap.
Veneers are like caps but do not replace the tooth past the gum level. As such preparation requires healthy teeth and only minor adjustments to crooked corners, chips, and some lengthening or shortening can be performed. The cost is slightly less than crowns of the lowest grade, but some dentists will apply veneers for less. The same basic procedures are performed, except the tooth is only reduced in the area to be covered and not all around to the gum line. Veneers of the front are a very quick fix for discolored and slightly deformed teeth without major structural damage.
%26#039;over%26#039; and %26#039;under%26#039; bites can be slightly corrected with caps, but often jaw surgery is required to shorten the jaw. This is not a procedure to be undertaken lightly. All surgery and invasive dentistry carries serious risks. The surgeon would essentially break the jaw bone then secure it in a different position and allow the bone to regrow. This can be a lengthy process when caps are added.
Dental implants are necessary when there is no supporting tooth structure for caps or bridges. Implants are usually the most expensive out of pocket option because they involve entire teeth (like caps) and mounting hardware that is inserted through the gums into the jaw.
So, assume you%26#039;re going to pay $1500 per tooth and include extraction of wisdom teeth or capping them for a total mouth cost.
Additionally, some people may be required to undertake a course of antibiotics while having dental work done and it is advisable to talk to both a dentist and a medical doctor prior to commencing major cosmetic work.
