Why is america obsessed with perfect teeth?

Teeth are not only something that is related to beauty, but is also a sign of good health. If your teeth are discolored then you automatically look dirty. If they are crooked or not perfectly aligned in any way, then people relate that to your overall health!

Reply:because they look good and haveing healthy teeth is good for your health. i think there should be teeth inssurance everyone can afford so that everyone can have good teeth not just the people that can afford it.

Reply:Because their smiles hide a myriad of miseries and flaws. They are obsessed with appearances - not substance. That is why so many of them are depressed and on medications. Status is judged by your material possessions and how you look. It is all completely artificial. They also enjoy bagging foreigners for their bad teeth as if it makes them less human or something. All this takes it%26#039;s toll and will cause the soon-to-be down fall of this weird nation. I mean....... would any other country have elected Bush? No - of course not. Oh..... smile......
Reply:I had some bad crooked teeth when I was young. Braces helped with that. =)





Lots of people get braces too. Could be that? And it does make sense. USA --%26gt; wealthiest country --%26gt; money for good dental care.
Reply:Americans are obsessed with everything They see on television and movies. We want what all the rich, beautiful people have. Its all an illusion and most of them are not happy. But never the less if You dont look good You are screwed when it comes to getting a good job or just about any kind of respect. It is a full time job to look good. I already work for a living and I only care about My family, and half of My teeth are gone, at this point I dont really care about My teeth.
